Current ÉTS scholarship competitions:

• ETS internal scholarships (deadline: January 26, 2026)
• Volunteer engagement graduate studies scholarship  (deadline: January 26, 2026)
• Scholarships for ÉTS students or Bachelor’s graduates to pursue Master’s or PhD studies at ÉTS (deadline: February 2, 2026)
• Financial support for the dissemination and promotion of research work (Opening on January 5, 2026 until the funds are depleted)

Scientific Communication Competitions:

• ÉTS Science Poster Competition: February 26, 2026
  The goal of the competition is to introduce complex scientific notions in easy-to-understand language. You can choose to present –in lay terms– a topic related to your ongoing research project or any scientific or technological subject. Registration date: From January 5 to February 6, 2026
• Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT): March 24, 2026
  Organized by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS), you will have three minutes sharp to present your research to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research information in an engaging, accessible and compelling way.
  Registration date: From February 2nd to March 1st, 2026

• It may be worthwhile to have an example to follow:
  We have posted some examples of texts (in French and in English) that comply with the guidelines for internal scholarship competitions on the ÉTS website and in the online internal scholarship competition form. Consulting these examples before filling out your own form is strongly recommended, because non-compliant texts will be refused.
  Some examples (e.g.: descriptions of research projects) may also be useful for other competitions.
• List of scholarship recipients:
  Do you know the list of graduate studies scholarship recipients is available on the website? It presents the contests for which the Dean of Studies office is involved. Consult the list.
• Support for French-language integration:
  Master's with thesis students admitted on an adequate knowledge of English may get the reimbursement of French course tuition fees. Consult the web page for information on the program.
  Doctorate students admitted on an adequate knowledge of English may get a $600 bursary upon success of French course. Consult the web page for information on the program.

Other sources of funding

• Mitacs Accelerate – Standard program 
  This program offers paid internships with a partner business that agrees to contribute to the financing and to host the student at its premises to work on activities related to a joint research project. At least 50% of the student’s research time must be spent at the partner organization. This program offers considerable flexibility in terms of eligibility, duration of work terms and allocation of time for research at the business. There is no set deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the scheduled start of the internship.
• Business Strategy Internship 
  The program offers grants that fund innovation internships within a partner organization (company, municipality, hospital, non-profit organization) that commits to contributing funding and collaborating closely with the intern and their academic supervisor to carry out the organization's innovation activities, with the aim of helping it improve its products, processes, or services. This program offers considerable flexibility in terms of eligibility, internship duration, and the allocation of research time within the company. There is no deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least five weeks before the planned start date of the internship. Several funding models are available.

• Mitacs Globalink Research Award 
  $6,000 fellowship for senior undergraduates and graduate students to conduct 12-24-week research projects at universities abroad. 

  There is no set deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least 16 weeks before the start of the project.

Acfas Competitions (in French)

• Science Exposed 
  This contest organised by NSERC and Acfas seeks images that stem from research in all fields of study.
  Deadline: February 9, 2026
• Génie en affaires competition 
  From research project to commercialization, Acfas is offering students expert mentorship and the possibility to present their research to the public.
