NSERC Master's Scholarships

When submitting an application, the applicant must enclose an updated OFFICIAL transcript and a transcript for the Fall 2025 semester, even if there are no marks indicated. This constitutes proof of registration in the study program. The application for the scholarship may be refused if these documents are not included.

Bourse Laporte - Premiers Peuples

The Fondation de l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (FOIQ) offers $3,000 to students from Canada's First Nations pursuing a bachelor's degree. See the section "All levels" below. 

This month:

  • Terry Fox Humanitarian Award
    Scholarships offered to students who strive to emulate Terry Fox’s courage and determination by providing their communities and those in need with humanitarian service.
    Deadline for submitting an application to the organization: December 1, 2025
  • Allied Van Lines Scholarships
    4 scholarships of $1,000 intended for students whose studies are related to the logistics field. 
    Deadline for submitting an application to the organization: December 15, 2025

  • Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America – Fulbright Awards
    USD $12,500 scholarship for studying or conducting a research project in the United States. 
    Deadline for submitting an application to the organization: November 15, 2025
  • Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation (Ph.D.)
    $50,000 scholarships ($20,000 compensation) for students whose research project is related to one of the themes of the Foundation.
    Deadline for submitting an application to the organization: November 17, 2025, 4 p.m.
  • NSERC Graduate Scholarships (Master's)
    Scholarships valued at $27,000 each, offered to high-caliber students enrolled in natural sciences or engineering programs.

  • Link Foundation Fellowships (Ph.D)
    Fellowships valued at $35,000 each (max. 2 years), intended for students in programs related to the field of energy.

  • AIMQ Municipal Engineering Scholarship (in French)
    $5,000 scholarship offered by Fondation des ingénieurs municipaux du Québec to a student whose research project is related to the areas of water, air, soil, roads or networks.

Other sources of funding

  • Mitacs Accelerate – Standard program 
    This program offers paid internships with a partner business that agrees to contribute to the financing and to host the student at its premises to work on activities related to a joint research project. At least 50% of the student’s research time must be spent at the partner organization. This program offers considerable flexibility in terms of eligibility, duration of work terms and allocation of time for research at the business. There is no set deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the scheduled start of the internship.
  • Business Strategy Internship 
    The program offers grants that fund innovation internships within a partner organization (company, municipality, hospital, non-profit organization) that commits to contributing funding and collaborating closely with the intern and their academic supervisor to carry out the organization's innovation activities, with the aim of helping it improve its products, processes, or services. This program offers considerable flexibility in terms of eligibility, internship duration, and the allocation of research time within the company. There is no deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least five weeks before the planned start date of the internship. Several funding models are available.
  • Mitacs Globalink Research Award 
    $6,000 fellowship for senior undergraduates and graduate students to conduct 12-24-week research projects at universities abroad. There is no set deadline for submitting applications. Applications must be submitted at least 16 weeks before the start of the project.
