Another Award for Professor Ruxandra Botez

Internationally renowned for her research expertise in the aerospace sector, Professor Ruxandra Botez of the Systems Engineering Department at ÉTS has been honoured with a 2021 SARES Award in the Science category for her exceptional scientific contribution to the fields of aviation and sustainable energy.

The Award was presented during the International Sustainable Aviation and Energy Research Society (SARES) conference, which was held in late November 2021.

In addition to this distinction, Professor Botez was a keynote speaker at the International Symposium on Electric Aircraft & Autonomous Systems (ISEAS-2021) organized by SARES in December 2021.

Holder of the Canada Research Chair for Aircraft Modeling and Simulation Technologies, and Head of the Aeronautical Research Laboratory in Active Control, Avionics and Aeroservoelasticity, Professor Botez has received many awards and distinctions recognizing her contributions to research throughout her career. She has also been named a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and an Associate Fellow of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). At ÉTS, she is the Student Faculty Advisor for the AIAA. She was also recently named Deputy Technical Chair (Co-chair) of the ‘Adaptive Structures’ component of the Organizing Committee for the 2023 AIAA SciTech conference and Technical Chair of the same component for the 2024 conference.

ÉTS would like to extend its congratulations to Professor Botez for her extremely active commitment to her field, and once express its pride and delight in being able to count such an internationally influential researcher among its ranks.

SARES also focuses on improving management tools and systems in the aerodrome, airplane technologies management and operations research, sustainability and social awareness training.
