How to register

  1. Upload your current resume by following the procedure (Mon ÉTS).
  2. Fill out the form and submit it. When you get access to job postings, you will need to update your summary.

Once these steps are completed, expect a minimum delay of two working days to gain access to job offers.

Before you register, make sure you have read and understood these two steps as well as the following authorization:

I hereby authorize ÉTS to forward my academic record (resume and transcript of grades) to employers that I solicit through the Co-Operative Education (SEC) department. I release ÉTS from any responsibility concerning the use of the information contained in my computerized placement file. As the SEC is responsible for recruitment activities on campus (internship and job events, networking activities, conferences, etc.), I accept receiving information on this subject at my e-mail address recorded in my placement file.

S.V.P. patientez...

If you do not have a Canadian work permit, it is your duty and responsibility to inform the employer of this at your first interview.

Subsequently, you must take the necessary steps to be able to work legally at the company that wishes to hire you.

Consult Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) on the Immigration and Citizenship Canada website and follow the instructions given.

By registering with the placement service, you agree to:
  1. Stay active by regularly applying for posted positions (a candidate not having applied for any position during the last two semesters will be removed from the system).

  2. Respond honestly and within the prescribed time limits to the update reminders made twice a year. A candidate who no longer meets the eligibility criteria or does not respond within the prescribed time limits will be removed from the system.

  3. Provide employers with accurate and relevant information on your skills, your experience and your fields of interest, whether in written form or orally.

  4. Carefully read each job description prior to applying for the position.

  5. Only apply for jobs that really interest you.

  6. Regularly consult the posting system to check if your application is accepted, since it is compulsory to attend any invitation or interview offered to you by an employer, at the date, time and place indicated.

  7. Notify the employer (or the staff of the Co-Operative Education department) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you absolutely cannot attend an interview because of a major impediment.

  8. Prepare well for interviews and be professional when you go: dress in good taste, and show politeness and courtesy under all circumstances.

  9. When applicable, notify the employer as soon as possible of your lack of interest in the position, explain your reasons with sincerity and show your gratitude for the time granted you.

  10. Notify the Co-Operative Education department if you are no longer available or if you wish to cancel your Réseau Carrières registration, by completing a short questionnaire found in the job consultation section of the ÉTS portal or by phone at 514 396-8813.

Consequences of Breaching the Code of Ethics

Generally, in the event of failure to fulfil your responsibilities or a complaint on the part of an employer about your attitude or behaviour, ÉTS will make a note in your file for a first occurrence. In the case of further occurrences, ÉTS will disable your access to job offers.

At any time and without notice, ÉTS can cancel access to job offers for any reason deemed valid.

Viewing Job Offers

Access the job consultation system by entering your universal code and password.

Carefully read the offer of employment to ensure that you really are interested in the position, because once your resume is sent to the employer, you must go to the interview if you are invited.

It is your responsibility to regularly consult the posting system to check if your application is successful. If you are offered an interview, you must go at the time and place specified. If you are unable to go, contact the employer or the ÉTS Co-Operative Education department as quickly as possible to check if the interview can be rescheduled.

Follow-up on positions posted

We follow up with employers to find out the results of posted job offers. You can check the status of a posted position and see how it was filled from your placement file. Note that we are dependent on employers’ responses to our follow-up and the information may be unavailable or there may be a delay in obtaining it.
