Prediction and Mitigation of Excavation Deterioration in Underground Salt Mines – Fully Funded MSc and PhD Opportunities
Fully Funded MSc and PhD Opportunities.
Join a research program aimed at improving the stability and safety of underground rock salt mines. Through field instrumentation, 3D surveying, laboratory testing, and numerical modelling, students will contribute to the development of innovative tools for ground control and sustainable mining operations.
We are currently recruiting MSc and PhD students for research projects on the following topics:
- Numerical implementation of viscoplastic constitutive models adapted to underground mining (PhD);
- Experimental benchmarking and laboratory calibration of viscoplastic constitutive models for rock salt (MSc, PhD);
- Topographical change detection in room-and-pillar rock salt mines (MSc);
- Design of ground support systems adapted to underground salt mines (MSc, PhD).
