Assessment and improvement of agricultural runoff water quality in Quebec
We are seeking a PhD student for a project beginning in Winter 2027. This project, co-supervised with my colleague Mathieu Lapointe, is funded by our Fonds de recherche du Québec Chair and the AdapT Institute on the resilient management of stormwater runoff in urban and rural environments.
The objectives of this project are to:
- Measure runoff flow rates and volumes in agricultural environments;
- Quantify the loads of total suspended solids (TSS) and emerging contaminants released into receiving environments;
- Assess the impact of adding new treatment approaches in agricultural settings.
Required knowledge
A solid understanding of water treatment methods, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and PCSWMM software is an asset.
