Final Exams Schedule
Final exams take place in person, unless otherwise specified.
The draft timetable of final examinations is available:
- For the Fall session: around mid-October;
- For the Winter session: around mid-February;
- For the Summer session: around mid-June.
Why a draft timetable? Because we produce two versions of the final exams timetable: the draft timetable and the final version.
After the publication of the draft timetable, you have five working days to investigate moving an exam (if you have a conflict). The procedure required is described in the draft timetable.
The final versions of the timetable and the locations of the exams are available in My ÉTS.
It is your responsibility to know the academic calendar, including the exam period.
In accordance with the Academic Regulations, any absence from a final exam must be justified with documentary proof. There must be a major reason beyond your control to miss a final exam. Medical notes must mention the name of the disability and the reason for the same, and must be dated the same day as the exam.

Any justification of absence from a final exam must be presented within five working days after the date of the exam (the period starts on the day after the exam takes place). Any request that does not respect this condition will be refused.
No absence from a deferred exam will permit a retake.
How to Proceed
1. Complete the “Demande d’examen de compensation” form that you will find in My ÉTS, under the Forms section. Then follow the indicated steps (French only)
- You need to select the course(s) affected by your absence. If the course is not visible, you have either missed the five working days period to justify your absence OR the course isn’t specified in the Final exams schedule.
- You need to specify the reason of your absence and attach proof to justify your absence.
- Death of an immediate parent: father, mother, brother, sister, child or spouse.
- Illness certified by a doctor’s note
- Childbirth (your spouse or yourself)
- Internship interview
- Competitive Activity
If your absence is due to illness, you will need to provide a medical note indicating a disability. The ticket must also demonstrate a disability during the day of the failed exam.
You must include your justification in PDF format.
2. If your request is accepted:
- you will receive a response by email (ÉTS email address);
- your teacher will be informed;
- The Registrar's Office will place a deferral code in your file. You will see an R appear in Signets.
3. The exact schedule for the deferred exams will be sent to your ÉTS email address no later than one week before they are held. Deferred exams always start on the second Thursday of the following session. They take place over a period of a week and are always held either in the evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. or on Saturdays.
4. If your request is declined:
- you will receive a response by email (ÉTS email address);
- you will score zero on the final exam.
