FRQ - Science en exil
This program is intended for students from countries experiencing an emergency who wish to undertake a graduate program at a university located in Quebec.
Master's and Doctorate scholarships are offered in collaboration with the host institutions. 75% of the scholarship is financed by the FRQ. The remaining 25% will be assumed by the professor who will be supervising the applicant's research.
Amount and duration
Master: $20,000 annually (2 years)
Doctorate: $25,000 annually (3 years)

Selection criteria
The Dean of Studies Office will be recommending eligible candidacies to the FRQ.
Required documents
The application must be submitted (in two PDF documents) by the professor who will supervise the student:
1- The first document must contain, in order:
- Application form completed by the director (available in French on the intranet);
- Copy of the student’s passport;
- Copy of the visa or proof it has been requested;
- Director's financial commitment form (available in French on the intranet).
2 - The second document must contain:
- A motivation letter from the student (letter of justification for the request that describes the reasons why the person is seeking support from the FRQ, like the danger / risks the student are facing);
- A letter of financial support commitment from the director (available in French on the intranet).
