3D Computer Graphics: Visual effects, animation, and simulation
This project aims to train master’s and PhD students on a variety of 3D computer graphics topics such as motion capture editing, virtual studios, realistic rendering, animation paradigms, and scene capture There are opportunities for collaboration with other universities (Carleton University, University of Ottawa, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Simon Fraser University) as well as opportunities for internships in the industry (such as media and entertainment software, animation, visual effects).
The project for each student will be tailored to their expertise and interests, possible collaboration with other universities, and potential internship.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are values cherished by the research team. EDI is considered at every stage of the research process, including recruitment, and accommodations can be set in place to improve EDI.
Required knowledge
The ideal student has expertise in 3D computer graphics and is a capable C++ or Python programmer. Knowledge related deep neural networks, computer vision, image processing, numerical optimization, OpenGL, DirectX, Unreal, or Unity are also interesting assets.
