ÉTS to Host Top-Class Rugby in November

ÉTS is proud to host the Raymond James Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship, sponsored by Lougheed Wealth Management, which will be held at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard from November 12 to 16. The École is the first exclusively francophone university to receive this honour, highlighting its dedication to athletic excellence.

Eight of the nation’s top men’s rugby teams will participate in the Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship. 

The Piranhas, who won the championship last year, are ready to defend their title and continue their outstanding run!

From Dream to Reality: The Rise of the Piranhas in Men’s Rugby

Rugby has a special place in ÉTS history. Since returning to university competitions in 2015, the Piranhas have continued to make their mark: reaching their first final in 2017, only to suffer a heartbreaking defeat in the provincial final in 2023. Despite an undefeated regular season, they came up short with a single game away from qualifying for the national championship.

In 2024, everything came together. For years, ÉTS was considered an underdog. But the university team surprised everyone with a real Cinderella run.

Now, in 2025, the team is ready to defend its championship title and add another chapter in this inspiring story!
