Scholarships of 2nd and 3rd cycle (FRQ)

Scholarships directed at those wishing to begin or continue a master's or doctoral program.

Plan to submit an application one year in advance.
The competition is open to students who wish to obtain financing beginning summer 2026, fall 2026 or winter 2027.

Amount and duration

Graduate Scholarships:

• Master’s in research phase and return to research (B1): $20,000 / year (max. 2 years);
• Doctorate in research phase and return to research (B2): $25,000 / year (max. 4 years).

Eligibility criteria

• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  OR
• Have a valid RAMQ health card or RAMQ eligibility proof.

If one of the above conditions is not met, or if both conditions are not met, the applicant must submit one of the following documents to be eligible:

• Proof of admission to a program of study eligible
  OR
• An acceptance form from the research supervisor.
