MIMO SDA Architecture Integration into New Generation CNS networks

The Master student will work on the NSERC/CRIAQ CRD project entitled “Next Generation SDR Avionics for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance” with the industrial partners as Thales Canada, ACSS, SII Canada and Bombardier.

The objective of this Master project is to investigate and develop new methods of integration of the novel SDA architecture into the global avionic new generation networks according to the standard and certified communication protocols. It will be also an important part in order to comply with the RTCA and ARINC recommendations. He/she will work on developing a global avionic architecture in which the SDAs plays the core so that the flight management system (FMS) and flight management computers (FMC) have to be redesigned according to the new generation avionics standards. Development of a flexible and scalable SDA system adaptive and easy to implement from any aircraft category to another one with efficient and fast certifiable installation will be one of the challenges. Communication protocols and avionics network control protocols and systems are in the main interest as well as the redundancy of the new SDAs will be analyzed and optimally developed. He/she also participate the development of the NextGen MIMO SDA and validate it in anechoic chamber and real flight environment.
