Integrity Monitoring and Fault Tolerant Algorithms for NextGen MIMO SDA

The Master student will work on the NSERC/CRIAQ CRD project entitled “Next Generation SDR Avionics for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance” with the industrial partners as Thales Canada, ACSS, SII Canada and Bombardier.

The objective of this Master project is to research on new integrity monitoring and fault tolerant algorithms for the NextGen MIMO SDA. The research is considered as a critical part which include algorithms for integrity and authentication of signals sources, parallel signal processing as well as software architecture redundancy design, development and certification, etc. New metrics for interferences identification, mitigation and learning algorithms development will be studied and designed. Other work includes the development of control systems for Out-of-Band (OOB) interferences avoidance, and power control to fulfill with the FCC transmission regulatory and other authorities. He/She will also participate in the development of the NextGen MIMO SDA and validate it in real flight environment.
