Department of Software and IT Engineering
Mohamed Faten Zhani is associate professor with the department of software and IT engineering at ÉTS Montreal in Canada. His research interests include cloud computing, network function virtualization, software-defined networking and resource management in distributed systems. He co-authored several book chapters and papers published in top conferences and journals.

Faten served as general or program chair for many international workshops and conferences. He is co-editor of a special series of IEEE Communications Magazine and managing editor of IEEE softwarization newsletter.
He is co-founder and vice-chair of the IEEE Network Intelligence Initiative, member of many IEEE and ITU standardization groups, and Senior member of IEEE.

Faten received the IEEE/IFIP IM 2017 Young Researchers and Professionals Award as a recognition for outstanding research contribution and leadership in the field of network and service management.

  • Faten is participating at the panel "Maturing E2E network and cloud slicing: Where are the frontiers?" held at  the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC 2019) on April 5-19, 2019, Marrakech, Morocco.
