Titre du projet de recherche actuel

Smart Mattresses using Wireless Sensor Networks

Adequate and comfortable sleep is the key for maintaining a healthy life. The main aim of my research project is the conception of a mattress that would be able to provide a wireless unobtrusive and accurate real time monitoring of sleep quality, and a self-adaptation to provide patient’s physiological comfort. Without any direct contact, physiological parameters are acquired from the patient then analysed; accordingly the mattress is self-adapted independently to compensate any patient’s discomfort. Such prototype would be addressed mainly for elderly people in order to provide them with self-reliance; with that system, human dependency or nightly assistance are not needed anymore.
