Confidentiality of data in connection with ÉTS websites

In compliance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (CQLR, c. A-2.1), ÉTS undertakes to respect the confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to it, and to take the necessary measures to ensure its protection. Through its websites, ÉTS collects only such personal information that is required for the execution of its mission, and only uses this information for the purposes and during the period for which it is collected.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text files that are sent by a Web server and stored by a Web browser so that they can be consulted by the browser at a later time. They are recorded in the browser’s directory and stored in a computer’s RAM while the browser is in use. They may also be stored on a computer’s hard drive when the user disconnects from the site or Web server. The active life of cookies varies, with some lasting up to 2 years.

How does ÉTS use cookies?

ÉTS collects information concerning the activities of visitors to its websites, either directly or through authorized third parties, primarily through the use of the following tools: browser cookies, invisible and tracking pixels, Flash cookies or other tracking tools.

ÉTS may use the information thus collected (e.g.: IP addresses, demographic data, pages visited, etc.) primarily for the purpose of recognizing current and new visitors to its websites, better understanding their areas of interest and directing them toward certain types of content, and for improve its websites in order to provide an improved user experience. All of the information that is collected on this site is treated in a secure and confidential manner, and is not shared with third parties.
