On November 9, ÉTS hosted the opening of the ephemeral and innovative exhibition "Les chercheuses en BD", an event organized jointly by ÉTS and the French Consulate in Quebec City. These unique works, in the form of large comic strips, highlight the research of women scientists within the network of Quebec universities that have collaborations with France.

This collaboration between 11 female researchers and 11 female comic book authors allows us to discover research work in a different way, by combining art and science. The illustrated stories are intended to encourage all those who are thinking of pursuing a career in research and science, traditionally more masculine fields.

In addition to highlighting the contribution of women to research in an innovative format, this exhibition presents portraits of inspiring women scientists who are making their mark in their respective fields, including Claudiane Ouellet-Plamondon, a professor-researcher in the Department of Construction Engineering at ÉTS. Her work focuses on construction and geo-environmental materials from a circular economy and planetary limits perspective.

For the occasion, ÉTS welcomed Sophie Lagoutte, Consul General of France in Montreal. This evening was an opportunity to salute the spirit of cooperation and collaboration that makes the international commitment of the university community possible. Moderated by Annie Bouthillette, Executive Director of Institutional Relations at ÉTS, the evening took place with the conviction that this project is only the beginning of a promising initiative.

The exhibition is free of charge and will be accessible from November 14 until the end-of-year holidays at ÉTS before touring the Université du Québec network.
