New measures for international students
ÉTS is pleased with the announcement from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship CanadaTuesday, May 11, 2021
ÉTS is pleased with the announcement from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) facilitating the arrival of international students for the Fall 2021 back-to-school period.
While ÉTS is expecting close to 1,000 students to arrive for the next session, Canadian authorities announced at the end of April that all completed applications for study permits submitted before May 15 will be processed by August 6, 2021 in order to allow all international students to plan to arrive in the country for the beginning of the Fall session.
As a first step, in order to take advantage this deadline, students who have been admitted to educational institutions in Québec can present proof of having submitted an application for a Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ). They can then attach their CAQ letter of acceptance of at a later date to complete their application. Canadian authorities have also committed to processing all applications submitted after May 15, 2021 as quickly as possible.
ÉTS has already issued more than 3,200 letters of admission for the Fall session, and is working hard to process international applications received in recent weeks at a rapid pace to enable to greatest possible number of students who have chosen our school to enjoy the full ÉTS experience from the beginning of the back-to-school period.
ÉTS would like to remind those who are unable to obtain the required authorizations within the established deadlines that they can request a postponement of admission.
The Student Services team, which keeps the international student community informed on a regular basis, launched its series of webinars and newsletters several weeks ago, and remains available to provide students with personalized guidance services.
