Historic $100 000 contribution from the ÉTS Student Association
Emergency fund to provide support for students experiencing financial difficulties related to COVID-19Wednesday, April 8, 2020
On April 3, 2020, during a meeting of its Board of Directors, the ÉTS Student Association (AÉÉTS) adopted a special resolution that will see an amount of $100,000 added to the $250,000 emergency fund for students in financial difficulty that was announced by ÉTS last week.
According to Nicolas Crevier, President of AÉÉTS: "The AÉÉTS Board of Directors voted unanimously to adopt this historic resolution and approve this significant contribution to the emergency fund. We are proud to join our efforts with those of ÉTS in supporting the success of students during this crisis, which has disrupted the end of this semester."
François Gagnon, Director General of ÉTS, agreed: "I would like to applaud this act of generosity, solidarity and mutual aid. There is now close to half a million dollars available to our students who are in a precarious financial position during this period of self-isolation amid the current crisis. This will allow us to provide support for a greater number of students in terms of academic success, and to help Québec train a new generation of dynamic and competent individuals."
