Wednesday, January 8, 2020

We were shocked and saddened to learn that two Ph.D. graduates from ÉTS were among those who lost their lives in the crash of the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 this morning in Iran.

Canada’s emergency consular assistance centre confirmed that Aida Farzaneh, a Ph.D. student and lecturer in the Construction Engineering Department, and her spouse, Arvin Morattab, who was a Ph.D. graduate at ÉTS in 2018, were both on board the plane and are among the deceased.

The entire ÉTS community would like to extend its most sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of Ms. Farzaneh and Mr. Morattab, and to their professors and colleagues
