A Doctoral student from ÉTS is a crowd favourite at McGill
Ruben Rodrigo Lopez-Salazar earns an award from the audience during the regional “Three Minute Thesis Competition”Friday, May 10, 2019
After having won the English segment of the internal ÉTS Competition, Ruben Rodrigo Lopez-Salazar, a Doctoral student in the Electrical Engineering Department, went on to represent ÉTS at the Eastern Regional finals of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition at McGill University on April 30, 2019. Organized by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS), the Eastern Regional Competition brings together 11 finalists from universities in Quebec and the Maritime provinces.
Mr. Lopez-Salazar’s presentation entitled “Thinking Small to Produce on a Big Scale” garnered the People’s Choice Award after a vote by those in attendance and those watching online.
Professor Vahé Nerguizian from the Electrical Engineering Department acted as Thesis Director for Mr. Lopez-Salazar.
