2019 Celebration of Scholarships and Co-op Work Terms
ÉTS thanks its donors and employers of co-op studentsWednesday, April 24, 2019
The Celebration of Scholarships and Co-op Work Terms, which was held on April 16 in the Hall of Pavilion A, provided an opportunity for École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) to express its gratitude for the invaluable support it received over the previous year from donors and from employers of co-op students. The event was also attended by scholarship recipients, who were recognized for their leadership and excellence.
A total of 113 organizations, including the Molson Foundation and the TD Bank Group, donated an impressive sum of $1,553,268 to ÉTS students and student clubs, and to Centech start-up companies. Scholarships can change lives and alter or guide career choices. They can make a solid contribution to the success of projects for student clubs, and sometimes represent the financial boost that results in perseverance and achieving excellence.
36 of the 73 employers of co-op students in attendance are honoured members of the Cercle des plus importants employeurs de stagiaires de l’ÉTS (Circle of leading employers of ÉTS co-op students), a distinction awarded by the Co-operative Education Service to those companies that employed the largest number of co-op students in 2018. Two of the companies that rank among the largest employers of co-op students are Genetec and Transat.
Understanding the reality of the labour market is crucial in terms of launching a career and being able to put into practice the theories learned in class. Employers of co-op students are just as essential to the pursuit of our mission as our donors.
