In recognition of the importance of the work done by those who provide coaching and guidance for co-op students and employers session after session, the Québec chapter of the Canadian Association for Cooperative Education introduced the Étoile (Star) Award, which was presented during its most recent conference in mid-May.

The first ever recipient of the Award is none other than Ann Hackett Harness, a Co-op Work Term Coordinator who works in the Co-operative Education Service (CES) at ÉTS!

Over the course of her 23-year career at ÉTS, Ann has supervised and visited more than 4,000 Engineering co-op students and coordinated close to 900 international co-op work terms.

Always accessible and a proud representative of ÉTS, Ann Harkness was both the first female non-engineer and the first Anglophone resource to be hired by the CES. Among her other accomplishments, her outstanding qualities allowed her to develop territories outside of Québec and the international component of co-op work terms for ÉTS.
