Convocation

Time

9:15 a.m. – Time by which graduating students must arrive to receive instructions and their gown.
Latecomers will not be admitted.
10:30 a.m. – CEREMONY BEGINS

Who is eligible?

  • Only graduating students who received their bachelor’s diploma between November 2018 and March 2019 are invited to the ceremony on April 28, 2019. If you are eligible, you will receive an e-mail.
  • You must have paid all tuition fees no later than April 12, 2019 to receive your diploma at this ceremony.
     

Important Dates Before the Ceremony

  • Registration e-mail sent: Week of March 18, 2019
  • Ceremony registration ends: April 5, 2019
  • Tickets and passes sent out: Week of April 15, 2019
     

Invitations and Passes

  • For graduates:
    • No charge; you will receive a pass
  • For guests:
    • $40 per person for spouses, parents and friends. Limit of four guests per graduate.
    • No charge for children under two sitting on a parent’s lap.
  • Passes and tickets for your guests will be sent by postal mail.
     

Information for Graduates

Dress code

  • Business attire is required for graduates and their guests.  
     

Coatroom

  • Required, at a cost of $3, cash only.
     

Photos and videos

  • A professional photographer will take individual photos when you go on stage to receive your diploma. Photos will be online within 72 hours of the ceremony at photopatrick.com.
  • ÉTS convocation is a public event. Participants may see their images in the media, on the ÉTS Web site or Facebook page or in the school’s promotional materials. By registering for the ceremony, you accept these possibilities.
     

Diploma Framing

  • A diploma framing service, designed with ÉTS’s colours, is offered on site.
  • You can also order your frame in advance. You’ll receive it at the end of the ceremony.
     

Can’t Attend the Ceremony?

In that case, your diploma will be sent by postal mail to the address in your file. Be sure that it is up to date on MyETS and correct it if needed. Diplomas are mailed out about a month after the ceremony.

Who is eligible?

  • This ceremony is only for students who completed their bachelor’s degree in the fall 2018 or winter 2019 semesters.
  • If you are eligible, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to register for the ceremony if your third co-op work term and end-of-study project are underway or successfully completed and these credits are the last requirements to obtain your diploma.

  • Tickets and passes will be mailed out: About a week before the ceremony


How to register?

  • Once you have received the e-mail confirming that you are eligible for the ceremony, register online on SIGNETS before 8 a.m. February 25.
  • You can order tickets for your guests when you register.


Invitation and Cost of Tickets

  • For Iron Ring recipients:

    • $50: includes the ticket, certificate and ring (which will be presented to you on site)  

  • For guests:

    • $40 per person including partners, parents and friends. Limit four guests per graduating student.

    • No charge for children under two who sit on a parent’s lap.

  • For sponsors:

    • $50 per person, unless the sponsor is an ÉTS employee (in which case, there is no fee)

    • Your own ticket will be issued on site. Tickets for your guests will be mailed out. Seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

  • About two hours
     

Reception

  • There will be a cocktail reception following the Ceremony. If you allow ÉTS to photograph you during this event, be aware that the photos may be used to develop promotional material for the School.
