The new ÉTS library
The ÉTS community has been anxiously awaiting the reopening!Wednesday, September 5, 2018
The new ÉTS library opened its doors at exactly 8:30 a.m. on September 4, 2018, just in time for the beginning of the fall 2018 session. After more than a year of work, including eleven months when the library was relocated to more modest quarters in Pavilion B, the library employees threw back the curtain covering the entrance doors for the new library with great enthusiasm, finally allowing the students who had gathered in great number to enter the new premises.
A library for the XXI century
Larger, more functional, more modern and more comfortable, the new library was completely redesigned with a view to making it a more attractive living space for users, featuring friendly and welcoming spaces that are conducive to studying, creativity and cooperation.
Now occupying 3,000 m2, which represents a 20% increase in space, the new library includes 600 seating places for students, or 33% more than before. It also features 15 team work rooms, a computer lab, a multi-functional room and a space reserved for graduate and post-graduate students. There is abundant natural lighting, the acoustics have been optimized to hinder the propagation of unwanted noise and the entire space is extremely functional, thanks in large part to the many electrical outlets and USB ports, along with the comfortable and practical furniture.
The ÉTS community is invited to take advantage of short guided tours of the library between now and September 7. For details: Facebook page.
The official inauguration is scheduled for the end of October 2018.
