Canada Research Chair in Measuring the Impact of Human Activities on Climate Change
Mission
The mission of the Chair is to develop innovative measuring tools based on the most advanced knowledge to better quantify the impact of human activities on climate change. Stakeholders from the various levels of government can then use these tools to develop and implement their climate change action plans.
By combining new data sources with models borrowed from various disciplines, these tools will make it possible to assess the impact of strategies that are adopted at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, taking into account phenomena that are often overlooked due to their complexity.
Another objective of the Chair is to ensure that the tools that are developed can be used to help mobilize citizens and provide them with a sense of commitment in adopting behaviours that lead to lower emission levels.

Annie Levasseur has been a Professor in the Construction Engineering Department at ÉTS since 2017, and is the Scientific Director for the Centre d’études et de recherches intersectorielles en économie circulaire (CERIEC – Center for Intersectoral Studies and Research on the Circular Economy). Her research activities focus on environmental life cycle assessment methodologies and developing advanced modelling tools for quantifying the impact of human activities on climate change.
