The IRSST: A Prestigious Partner for ÉTSTuesday, April 16, 2019
During the Awards of Excellence Gala that was held on April 8, 2019, ÉTS presented its Award of Excellence, Research and Innovation Partner to the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST).
The IRSST conducts and funds research aimed at eliminating dangers to the health, safety and physical well-being of workers, and contributes to their rehabilitation. There is no question that, when it comes to prevention and occupational health and safety, the IRSST stands as a prestigious partner. ÉTS professors are currently conducting eleven research projects in collaboration with the IRSST.
For example, Professors Olivier Doutres and Jérémie Voix are working with Franck Sgard, an IRSST Researcher and Associate Professor at ÉTS, on research related to hearing protection, the design of artificial ears and measuring levels of noise exposure.
ÉTS and the IRSST are also working together on a variety of other projects, including the performance of chemical protection suits, controlling the level of contamination in pools and even assessing the level of exposure to bioaerosols among embalmers. These projects are led by Professors Stéphane Hallé, Thomas Dupont and Omar Chaallal.
In short, ÉTS and the IRSST boast a history of cooperation at every level, and ÉTS is proud to celebrate this important partnership in research and innovation by presenting this Award of Excellence to the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail.
