Office365Emails

The ÉTS messaging service "@ens.etsmtl.ca" has migrated in the cloud to Microsoft Office 365. This technology offers several interesting features and several modes of access are supported.

New address to access your emails online



 To configure your mailbox, please use the following parameters:

  • Web access: https://outlook.office365.com
  • Email server: outlook.office365.com
  • Type of account: Exchange
  • Username : prenom.nom.chiffre@ens.etsmtl.ca
  • Password: Institutional password
  • POP - Server : outlook.office365.com / Port : 995 / Encryption: TLS
  • IMAP - Server : outlook.office365.com / Port : 993 / Encryption: TLS
  • SMTP - Server : smtp.office365.com / Port : 587 / Encryption: STARTTLS

Who is this service for ?
This service is for the student community.
Who has access to this service?
Active students and graduates of ÉTS.
Who does not have access to this service?
Researchers, teachers and support staff.
Will my mailbox remain active if I am no longer a student?
The mailbox remains active only for graduates.

If a student is suspended or has not completed their program, their mailbox will be deactivated at the same time as their student account managed by Office of the Registrar.
What resources will I have access to ?
Each student has access to a 100 GB cloud mailbox (Microsoft Office 365).
How can I use this service ?
For documentation purposes, the following fictitious email address is used: jean.tremblay.1@ens.etsmtl.ca

Web access
  • To use the webmail service, go to https://outlook.office365.com

  • To identify yourself and reach your mailbox, enter your email address: jean.tremblay.1@ens.etsmtl.ca and the corresponding password.

  • For further assistance in using this interface, please visit this address cette adresse.
Setting up messaging on smartphones and tablets ("ActiveSync")
To configure your mailbox, please follow the following procedure :
  • Start the messaging application
  • Enter your email address. Ex: jean.tremblay.1@ens.etsmtl.ca
  • Enter your password.

IMAP and POP configuration settings
Use the following settings to configure IMAP or POP.

  • POP setting
    Server name: outlook.office365.com
    Port : 995
    Encryption method : TLS
  • IMAP setting
    Server name : outlook.office365.com
    Port : 993
    Encryption method : TLS
  • SMTP setting
    Server name : smtp.office365.com
    Port : 587
    Encryption method : STARTTLS
For GroupOffice usersNew
Use the following settings to configure IMAP or POP.

  • POP setting
    Server name : outlook.office365.com
    Port : 995
    Encryption method : SSL

    Check "authentication required" in the outgoing server otherwise    you cannot send e-mails.

How do I redirect my emails to another email account?

To automatically transfer your mail please follow the following procedure:

  • Forward email messages in Outlook on the web
